Founding of Alpha Kappa Alpha

Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA), the first Greek-letter organization established by African American collegiate women, was founded at Howard University.

Incorporation of AKA

Alpha Kappa Alpha was officially incorporated, allowing for the expansion of the sorority beyond Howard University campus.

First Charity Drive

Alpha Kappa Alpha organizes its first nationally coordinated charity drive, with members donating to the American Red Cross.

Establishment of Educational Advancement Foundation
