Methodology

How we ran this poll

Every study on this site is a fresh poll. Here’s exactly how this one was run.

To determine the most popular Christmas movie in each state, Holiday Calendar conducted an online survey of 3,000 Americans between December 10th and December 20th, 2024. Respondents were recruited through a nationally representative online panel and screened to include only adults aged 18 and older. The sample was distributed proportionally across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., with demographic quotas applied for age, gender, and household income to ensure a representative cross-section of the U.S. population. Respondents were presented with a list of 30 classic and contemporary Christmas films and asked to select their all-time favorite. An open-ended write-in option was also available for unlisted titles. State-level winners were determined by plurality vote. The survey has an overall margin of error of ±1.8 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
