Most Popular McDonald's Food by State

To determine the most popular McDonald's menu item in each state, Holiday Calendar conducted an online survey of 4,268 Americans between April 5th and April 11th, 2025. Respondents were recruited through a nationally representative online panel and screened to include only adults aged 18 and older who had visited a McDonald's restaurant at least once in the past 12 months. The sample was stratified by state, with a minimum of 50 respondents per state to ensure geographic coverage across all 50 states and Washington, D.C. Respondents were asked to select their single favorite McDonald's menu item from a comprehensive list of current offerings spanning breakfast, burgers, chicken, sides, and beverages. State-level winners were determined by plurality vote. The survey has an overall margin of error of ±1.5 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, with wider margins for individual state-level estimates.
