The World Obesity Federation established the observance in 2015, initially held on October 11, to stimulate and support actions helping people achieve and maintain a healthy weight. The date was changed to March 4 starting in 2020.
Introduction
World Obesity Day on March 4 is a great opportunity to raise awareness around the global obesity epidemic. This day was founded in 2015 by The World Obesity Federation with the goal of driving action to help combat obesity and improve people's lives.
