In 1976, 10-year-old Monica Dufour of Davison, Michigan, called into her grandfather William D. Chase's radio interview and suggested Goof-Off Day while goofing off. It became international around 1983 and has been listed in Chase's Calendar of Events since.
Introduction
It's time to let your hair down and have some fun on National Goof Off Day on March 22! This day was created as a way to take a break from the stresses of everyday life and just be silly. The idea is to give yourself permission to do something you wouldn't normally do – like taking an impromptu afternoon nap or indulging in some quality couch time with movie snacks. It's a great way to recharge and reconnect with friends and family, so why not take this opportunity to enjoy being goofy?
