National Tamkeen Day was founded in 2026 by Tamkeen Kiani as a new observance celebrating the given name Tamkeen. It is newly established, with no external record or third-party history of its own; July 22 is simply the date its founder chose.
A word for being established
The root runs deep in the Quranic text, where it appears eighteen times. The verb makkana is used for God establishing Joseph in the land, and again for whole peoples given a firm place to stand, as at chapter 22, verse 41. In every case the sense is the same: to be set securely in power, not by force but by being placed there.
