The Women’s Engineering Society launched National Women in Engineering Day in the UK on June 23, 2014, to mark WES’s 95th anniversary, led by WES President Dawn Bonfield. The campaign expanded internationally, receiving UNESCO patronage in 2016 and becoming International Women in Engineering Day in 2017.

This day was created to honor the remarkable contributions that women have made to engineering, and it is a perfect opportunity to celebrate the success of female engineers all over the world.
