About This Study
Methodology
To determine the most popular video game in each state, Holiday Calendar conducted an online survey of 3,500 Americans between June 20th and July 5th, 2024. Respondents were recruited through a nationally representative online panel and screened to include adults aged 18 and older who reported playing video games at least once per month on any platform (console, PC, or mobile). The sample was distributed across all 50 states and Washington, D.C., with demographic quotas for age, gender, and gaming platform to ensure broad representation of the gaming population. Respondents were asked to name the one video game they had played most over the past six months from a list of 50 top-selling titles spanning all major genres and platforms, with an open-ended write-in option for unlisted games. State-level winners were determined by plurality vote. The survey has an overall margin of error of ±1.7 percentage points at a 95% confidence level.
